Section 5. Planning staff support and development

Develop the skills and knowledge of the whole workforce

Key to implementing a whole organisation approach (WOA) to literacy, language and numeracy (LLN) is developing the skills and knowledge of the whole workforce.

  • All staff – not just those involved in teaching literacy, language and numeracy – should be included.
  • Individual staff needs should be addressed.
  • Resources to support development need to be identified.
