Support in developing a whole organisation approach

The LLN Health Check is a simple audit tool to help you get started and support you in developing a whole organisation approach (WOA). Using the Health Check will help you prioritise areas for development and will highlight resources to support you with implementing a WOA to literacy, language and numeracy.

The Health Check has nine sections that cover five key areas to support development of a whole organisation approach.

  1. LLN within your whole organisation’s policies and strategies
  2. Engaging everyone in literacy, language and numeracy
  3. Delivering literacy, language and numeracy (LLN) as part of a whole organisation approach
  4. Ensuring quality provision
  5. Planning staff support and development

Making the most of the LLN Health Check will provide you with more information about this tool and how to use it effectively. For those working in youth sector organisations, Making the most of the Skills for Life and Young People resources will provide a link to resources to support those who wish to develop and build their practice in literacy, language and numeracy learning with young people.
