Managing Delivery of Functional Skills

The Managing Delivery of Functional Skills (LSIS, 2008) suite of booklets includes the following:

  • Section 6: Supporting staff suggests how a staff audit can be used to identify the level of staff confidence in delivering functional skills and to put an appropriate training programme in place.
  • Section 8: Next steps has ideas about extending functional skills in future provision.

Readiness Tool

The following part of the Readiness Tool will help you to structure the identification of aspects of your provision that could be improved, and to create an improvement plan.

  • Stage 3 Summary of readiness to implement functional skills and improvement plan:
    • Phase 2: Identify areas for improvement (page 97)
    • Phase 3: Create an improvement plan (page 98).
